@Aragornek: Salt is a purchasable item used to place salt piles. Ghosts can step in the salt pile, and it can be used to check for Ultraviolet evidence, or to obtain photo rewards.

Usage
A salt container can be used to place (default: F on keyboard) salt piles on the floor. Each salt container can be used 2-3 times, allowing a maximum of 6-9 salt piles to be placed per game with 3 salt containers. Salt piles can be stacked in the same spot.

When a ghost walks over a salt pile, it will leave an indent in the pile. This can happen any time, regardless of the ghost being invisible or not. Within the next few seconds after the salt has been stepped in, if the ghost has Ultraviolet evidence, the ghost will also leave temporary footprints visible under UV light where it chooses to roam. Wraiths will never leave any imprint on salt piles, walking over them as if they do not exist.

Players cannot leave an imprint in salt piles or generate footprints.

Tier I
The Tier I salt shaker has two uses, and places a small, circular pile of white salt on the ground. A sole-like imprint will be left in the pile once a ghost steps over it.

Tier II
The Tier II salt jar has three uses, and places a long pile of pink salt, making it easier for the ghost to step on. The middle of the salt pile will disappear when the ghost steps on it.

Tier III
The Tier III salt jar has three uses, and places a long pile of black salt, identical in size to Tier II salt.

If the ghost steps on a black salt pile during a hunt, its speed will be reduced by 50% for 2 seconds. If it steps on another black salt pile before the 2 seconds are over, the timer will be reset but the ghost will not be further slowed down.

If the ghost steps on the salt pile outside of a hunt, it will turn around and go back the way it came briefly. It has no effect during ghost events.
